MONTGOMERY, Ala. ---- Auburn Montgomery women's soccer players Holly Clarke, Krista Hagen and Maren Heller were all recently named to Capital One Academic All-District First Team for their achievements on and off the field.
The All-District teams are selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. To be considered, athletes must have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale, have completed at least one year at their institution and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games.
Clarke started all 19 games for the Warhawks this season. The sophomore goalkeeper has an 11-6-2 record, with a 0.94 goals against average. She has three shutouts, and has also been a part of five team shutouts.
The Norwich, England native is an exercise science major, and currently has a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.
Hagen, a sophomore midfielder from Canberra, Australia, started 17 of 19 games and has been a steady offensive and defensive presence throughout the year. She has one goal and five assists. A medical technology major, she also sports a 4.0 grade-point average.
Heller has started all 15 games she has appeared in, playing as both a defender and a midfielder. She has three goals and three assists, scoring the game winning goal against Truett-McConnell. Heller is the third Warhawk to have a 4.0 grade-point average. She is an international business major.
The women's soccer team fell 3-1 to Brenau in the first round of the Southern States Athletic Conference. At-large bids for the NAIA national tournament are announced on Sunday, November 11.
