KANSAS CITY, Mo. ------ After posting an 18-4-2 record and earning the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament championship, the Auburn University at Montgomery men's soccer team was ranked fifth in the NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Postseason Top 25 poll, the national office announced Tuesday.

The Warhawks, which advanced to the NAIA National Championship quarterfinals, were ranked in the top-10 for the entire 2012 season. In the postseason poll, AUM garnered 375 total points.

National Champion Belhaven (Miss.) earned the top spot in the poll, capturing 436 total points and all 16 first-place votes. National runner-up Mobile (Ala.) was second, followed by Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) and MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.). The Warhawks finished just eight points behind the Pioneers.

AUM was one of four SSAC teams ranked in the top-10, as it was joined by the Blazers, Rams and No. 8 Southern Poly. Conference member Southern Wesleyan was ranked No. 22.

In addition to claiming the SSAC Tournament championship this season, the Warhawks also earned their first NAIA National Championship victory 2007. AUM's 18 victories were also the most for the team since 2005, when they finished 23-2. The 18 wins were also the most in a season by Koch as the AUM men's coach.
