JACKSON, Miss. ----- Reshad Bickham posted his second straight double-double and third in four games, but the Auburn Montgomery men's basketball team could not capitalize, as it fell on the road at Belhaven Saturday, 63-56.

With the loss, the Warhawks fell to 9-12 on the season and 7-7 in Southern States Athletic Conference play. The Blazers improved to 10-16 overall and 6-8 in league games.

Bickham finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds, both team highs for the Warhawks. Dominique Ellis added 11 points off the bench, while Tristen Harrell chipped in seven points.

Early in the contest, neither team was able to gain a significant advantage, but a 3-pointer by Harrell with 12:32 remaining in the opening half gave the Warhawks a 13-8 lead.

After the Blazers cut the lead to just one, 13-12, AUM answered with nine straight and took its largest lead of the game at 10 points, 22-12.

Belhaven countered with a 10-0 spurt and tied the score, and took a 28-26 halftime lead.

Harrell tied the score with the opening bucket of the second half, but the Blazers took the lead for good on a dunk by Curt Hall.

For the game, AUM converted 24-of-55 shots from the floor, while Belhaven knocked down 19-of-43. The difference came at the free throw line, where the Blazers hit 22-of-32 shots. The Warhawks attempted just 13 free throws, making only five.

Jordan Butts led all players with 18 points, while Hall added a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds. Chris Cofield and Datodrick Pinkston each also scored in double figures.

AUM will return to action on Thursday, Feb. 14, when it hosts Spring Hill at 7:30 p.m.
