NORCROSS, Ga. ---- Auburn University at Montgomery senior men's tennis standout Tim Hewitt has been selected the Southern States Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Hewitt, a Bournemouth, England, native, dropped just one singles game and two doubles games in helping the No. 2 Warhawks roll to a 9-0 victory over No. 25 Lee.

Currently ranked as the No. 6 singles player in the NAIA, Hewitt defeated Vincent Audy, 6-1, 6-0, at the No. 2 singles position in his lone singles dual of the week. He also teamed with senior Bence Toth at the No. 1 doubles spot, where the tandem defeated Audy and Richard Gamble, 8-2.

Hewitt is 3-1 in both singles and doubles play on the season. He sports a 1-1 singles record against ranked opponents.

AUM will return to action on Friday, March 1, when it travels to Hattiesburg, Miss., to take on No. 5 William Carey. The match is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
