NORCROSS, Ga. ---- For the third time this season, Auburn Montgomery junior Jade Curtis was named the Southern States Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced earlier today.

The Saltash, England, native led the third-ranked Warhawks to a 6-3 victory over 15th-ranked Coastal Georgia last Friday, dropping just three games across her singles and doubles matches.

At No. 1 singles, Curtis maintained her perfect record for the season with a 6-0, 6-1 win over the Mariners' Elektra Hunter, who entered the match as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's 20th-ranked player in the South region. Curtis is now 4-0 against regionally-ranked opponents this year, and 14-0 overall.

Playing with partner Tiffany William, Curtis also cruised to an 8-2 victory at No. 1 doubles over Priti Rijal and Nicole Faas, who are ranked 23rd nationally. The win was the first of the season over a nationally-ranked opponent for Curtis in doubles, and she is now 13-1 from the top doubles spot.

Curtis, currently ranked as the top singles player in the NAIA, was previously named conference player of the week on March 18 and February 25. She received her second career NAIA player of the week award on March 19 after earning her 50th consecutive singles victory.

The third-ranked Warhawks (9-5, 3-0 SSAC) host their final home match of the season this Thursday against NAIA No. 1 Brenau (8-2, 2-0 SSAC). The winner will clinch the top spot in the SSAC East division. Thursday's match begins at 1 p.m. at the AUM Tennis Courts.
