MONTGOMERY, Ala. ---- The No. 4 Auburn University at Montgomery men's tennis team picked up its first victory of the season, defeating Jacksonville State 5-4 on Friday at the AUM Tennis Complex.

With the win, the Warhawks improved to 1-2 on the season, while the Gamecocks fell to 2-5 overall.

AUM fell behind 2-1 after doubles play, as the duo of Nicolas Pinones-Haltenhoff and Zinelabidine Jouini earned an 8-1 victory at the No. 2 spot.

In singles, the Warhawks picked up four consecutive singles points, as Pinones-Haltenhoff, Jouini, Josh Reason and Marlu Jansen Van Vurren picked up straight-set victories to secure the win.

AUM will return to action on Thursday, Feb. 23, when it opens Southern States Athletic Conference play by hosting Emmanuel at 2 p.m.
