MONTGOMERY, Ala. ---- The No. 13 Auburn University at Montgomery baseball team dropped a 4-3 mid-week decision to in-state foe North Alabama Tuesday at the AUM Baseball Field.

With the loss, the Warhawks fell to .500 on the season and now stand at 8-8. The Lions improved to 9-2 overall.

Rusty Todd and Adam Russell paced AUM with a pair of hits each, with Russell launching his team-leading fourth home run of the season. Shane Turner added a solo home run in the ninth inning, while Chezz McCann also drove in a run.

On the mound, Andrew Morris took the loss, allowing just three hits in 4 1/3 innings, but surrendering three runs. Morris issued three walks and struck out four, while falling to 0-3 on the season. Tyler Dent followed with a pair of perfect innings, lowering his season ERA to 1.93. Blake Woo and Michael Carden closed out the game, allowing one run over the final 2 2/3 innings.

Andrew Hillis picked up the victory for the Lions, tossing 4 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to improve to 1-0 on the year. Hillis allowed just one hit and struck out seven in the outing. Ben Seabrook picked up his third save of the year.

Jake Sloan led all players with four hits and two runs batted in. Josh Doyle and Josh Carpenter also added RBIs.

AUM will return to action on Friday, Feb. 24, when it hosts Southern Wesleyan in the opening game of a Southern States Athletic Conference series at 4 p.m.
