Nicolas Pinones-Haltenhoff earned his second straight SSAC Player of the Week honor Monday.

NORCROSS, Ga. ----- For the second consecutive week, Auburn University at Montgomery men's tennis standout Nicolas Pinones-Haltenhoff has been selected the Southern States Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Pinones-Haltenhoff enjoyed a stellar week in singles play, posting a 3-0 record, including the match-clinching point for the Warhawks' eighth consecutive SSAC Tournament. He also won two of his three doubles matches.

On the week, the freshman capped SSAC Championship for the Warhawks with a 6-4, 7-6 victory over Jody Claasen of William Carey, the No. 6 ranked player according to ITA Tennis. He also defeated Burke DeFraites of Spring Hill and Romain Ferriera of Shorter in singles matches. He teamed with Zinelabidine Jouini for a 2-1 record in doubles play.

Overall, he sports a 19-4 singles record, playing entirely at the No. 1 position. In doubles, the Barcelona, Spain, native, has recorded a mark of 17-6.

Pinones-Haltenhoff and the Warhawks will return to action on Tuesday, May 8, when they host Emory at 1 p.m.
