KANSAS CITY, Mo. ---- The Auburn University at Montgomery men's tennis team finished the 2012 campaign ranked fifth in the postseason edition of the NAIA Men's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Thursday.

The Warhawks finished with 272 total points, a mark which ranked just 50 points behind national champions Oklahoma Christian.

The Eagles earned all 12 first-place votes and 312 total points after defeating Fresno Pacific in the championship match. The Sunbirds checked in at No. 2, followed by Embry-Riddle and Azusa Pacific, respectively.

AUM finished as the top ranked team from within the Southern States Athletic Conference and was joined by No. 9 William Carey, No. 15 Belhaven and No. 22 Shorter. Lee University was among the other's receiving votes.

The Warhawks finished the 2012 season with a 17-8 record, falling in the NAIA Tournament quarterfinals to Azusa Pacific. As a team, AUM finished 100-44 in singles matches and 38-37 in doubles play.
