MONTGOMERY, Ala. ---- The Auburn University at Montgomery men's soccer team and head coach Wulf Koch has announced the addition of Axel Vignisson and Agust Arnarson for the 2012 season.

Vignisson is a 5-10, 170-pound sophomore left defender and midfielder from Reykjavik, Iceland. Arnarson, also from Reykjavik, stands 5-11 and weighs 170 pounds. He is a forward and will be a freshman.

Vignisson attended the University of Iceland (Háskóli Íslands) last season and played for the club team Ithrottafelag Reykjavikur. While playing with IR, he appeared in 87 games, scoring once. At AUM, Vignisson plans to major in psychology.

"Axel will provide depth and will certainly contend for a starting position either as left back or left midfielder," Koch said of Vignisson. "We are happy he chose to come to AUM."

Arnarson will join the Warhawks from Menntaskólinn in Kópavogur and most recently played for the club team Breidablik. Prior to an injury, he scored 14 goals in just 13 matches, while adding seven assists, for the club. While at AUM, Arnarson plans to major in either economics or management.

"Agust has been on our radar for a couple seasons now, but an injury kept him from playing last season," Koch said of Arnarson. "He will bring much-needed scoring ability to our squad."

The duo joins Tim Kayser (5-6, 145/Sophomore/Outside Back/Starnberg, Germany) and Atli Johannsson (6-4, 190/Sophomore/Defender/Reykjavik, Iceland) as new additions to the Warhawks for the 2012 season.
