Women's Cross Country - Thu. Oct. 18, 2012

MOBILE, Ala. ---- Senior Katherine Toy finished second in the field to lead the Auburn University at Montgomery women's cross country team to a second-place finish at the 2nd-annual Badger Brawl, hosted by Spring Hill College, Thursday afternoon.

The Warhawks tallied 36 points, only 15 points behind team champion Mobile. The host Lady Badgers did not record a team score.

Toy recorded a time of 22:39 to post the career-best finish. The Sugarland, Texas native finished nearly one minute ahead of the third-place finisher, Sarah LeCroy from Mobile.

Freshman Raquel Anecito also had a strong showing, finishing ninth with a time of 24:57. Senior Areial Woods placed 12th with a time of 29:10, while freshman Amanda Lee recorded a time of 31:01 and finished 14th. Sophomore Jordan Holley and senior Stephanie Torrence rounded out the scoring with times of 31:59 and 36:52, respectively.

Emily Dolan of Spring Hill earned the individual title with a time of 21:54.

The Warhawks will return to action Saturday, October 20, when they participate in the Sand Shark Invitational, hosted by USC-Beaufort. The meet is slated to begin at 8 a.m.
