KANSAS CITY, Mo. ----- The Auburn University at Montgomery men's soccer team held strong at No. 5 in the NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Poll, the national office announced late Tuesday.

The Warhawks, currently 12-2-2 on the season, have won 10 of their last 12 matches and are in control of their own destiny in Southern States Athletic Conference play with two matches remaining. AUM takes on No. 15 Belhaven Wednesday and cross-town foe Faulkner Saturday at the Emory Folmar YMCA Complex.

For the fourth consecutive week, Rio Grande (Ohio) was the unanimous choice atop the poll, earning 591 points. Defending national champions Lindsey Wilson checked in at No. 2 with 572 points, while Science & Arts (Okla.) remained third. Columbia (Mo.), one of three remaining undefeated teams in the NAIA, jumped three spots to No. 4 with 517 points, followed by the Warhawks 11 points behind.

The SSAC continued its dominance of the poll, placing a nation-high five teams in the Top-25. Joining AUM in the poll was No. 9 Mobile, No. 12 Southern Poly, No. 13 Southern Wesleyan and Belhaven. League member William Carey is also among the others receiving votes.

The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conference/independents/unaffiliated groups. The second NAIA Modified Ratings Percentage Index (MRPI) will be announced on Wednesday by 5 p.m. CST. The ninth regular-season poll will be announced on Oct. 30.
