Sports Camps
The Auburn University at Montgomery athletic department will offer a variety of summer camps for local youth this summer. Below is a summary of each camp, as well as information needed to register for the camp.
 

AUM Tennis Camp


2013 Summer Camp
Join AUM head tennis coach Rolando Vargas, the 2011 and 2012 NAIA Women's Tennis Coach of the Year, for a fun summer camp at AUM. The goal is to enhance the campers athletic skills to become a better athlete through tennis and other activities.

Date: June 3 - 6
For: Boys and Girls ages 6 and up

Times: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (Full Day); 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. (Half Day)

AUM Women's Basketball Camps


2013 Elite Camp
The camp will take a motivated and committed player and give them individual attention and tools to improve their game. Areas of concentration will be ball-handling, shooting, passing, rebounding, position breakdowns, offensive and defensive concepts, 5-on-5, 3-on-3, and various other competitions.

Date: June 30 - July 2
Check-in Times: Residents: 2-3 p.m.; Commuters: 3-3:30 p.m. (on Sunday, June 30 at AUM North Commons)
For: Girls in Grades 7-12
Location: AUM Physical Education Complex
Cost: $180 for Residents; $150 for Commuters (Pre-Registered by June 25)

2013 Day Camp
The Day Camp is designed to build enthusiasm for the game. Its focus is to develop the skills of younger players. Attention will be focused on ball-handling, shooting, passing, rebounding, offensive and defensive concepts, along with 5-on-5, games and other various competitions. Our goal is to develop fundamental players with a great camp experience.

Date: August 5 - 9

For: Girls in Grades 4-7

2013 Boys Basketball Camp
Our goals is for each camper to improve in the fundamentals of the game of basketball, to develop sportsmanship skills and to have fun in an atmosphere of encouragement from our staff. Specific areas of concentration include shooting, ball handling and dribbling, and passing and receiving.

AUM Men's and Women's Soccer Camps

Little Warhawk Soccer Academy
The camp is designed to teach younger soccer players FUNdamentals of the game and develop technique through a variety of FUN games.

Date: June 10-13 or July 22-25
Times: 9 a.m. to noon
For: Boys and Girls ages 5-12

2013 Positional Camp
For soccer players today, many are specializing in specific positions in order to give themselves the best opportunity to focus on the details necessary to excel in that specific area of the field. The curriculum of the Positional Camp is designed to teach the intricacies of each position and provide you the knowledge of playing everywhere on the field. Whether you are a forward, midfielder, defender, or goalkeeper having the knowledge of each position will make you a multi dimensional player. The curriculum will also allow you to keep your focus on one position and aim to become proficient in that area. Our nationally licensed coaching staff has knowledge and experience in each position and can provide you with specific details and the appropriate functions of playing in each position.

Premier Academy
The Premier Academy is designed to challenge field players in attacking skills, speed of play and quick decision making through small sided games and 11 vs. 11 matches. The goalkeepers will be challenged through individual exercises as well as full-sided activities.

College Prep Camp
Whether you are a high school or club player or a seasoned veteran preparing for a successful college career, the College Prep Camp will help you realize your goals. A specifically designed curriculum will feature only the best and most effective techniques available. All instruction will be conducted by college coaches who will put you through the paces of a typical college pre-season routine. You will play with and against current and former AUM Soccer players, who are there to show you what the next level is all about, while giving you the chance to become more familiar with the elite college level. All coaches will be available after each session to answer any questions you may have on a "one-on-one" basis. Our Academy setting will challenge the field players in attacking skills, speed of play, and quick decision making through small sided 11 v 11 matches. The goalkeepers will be challenged through individual exercises, as well as full sided activities.

AUM Baseball Camps

Camp of Champs
The camp is designed to improve all aspects of the game in a fun and encouraging setting. Registration for the camp will be held from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Monday, July 8.

AUM Softball Camps

Warhawks Summer Softball Camp
The camp is designed to teach softball skills to help participants excel on the field. Campers will work on basic softball skills like hitting, fielding, base running and game situations.

Date: June 17-20 or July 15-18
Times: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
For: Girls ages 6 and up
Location: AUM Softball Complex
Cost: $125 (includes daily snack and  camp t-shirt)
NOTE: Lunch WILL NOT be provided. Campers can either bring a lunch or money for lunch each day.
