Elvar Gudjonsson - Grad Assistant - 2nd Season
A three-time all-conference performer and Honorable Mention All-American during his playing days, Elvar Gudjonsson rejoins the AUM coaching staff in 2012 for his second season as a graduate assistant.
Gudjonsson graduated from AUM with a degree in physical education in 2007. He then spent the next three years teaching physical education and swimming at Isaksskoli in Reykjavick, Iceland before returning to Alabama.
Prior to graduation, Gudjonsson was a three-year letterwinner for the men's soccer team, which posted a 59-11-1 record and advanced to three NAIA National Tournaments during his tenure. Playing primarily as a defender, he scored six goals and assisted on two others, while earning Southern States Athletic Conference First-Team All-Conference honors his final two seasons and second-team accolades in his first season. He was also named an Honorable Mention All-American and the most valuable player of the conference tournament as a sophomore.
Currently pursuing his master's degree in sports management from AUM, Gudjonsson is also a volunteer coach for the U-16 Torjager club team in Montgomery.
